Claude S. Coppenbarger, age 71, of Danville, Ill., father of Steven Coppenbarger of Kingman, died at 1 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 1, at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Danville where he had been a patient 10 days. Mr. Coppenbarger was born Feb. 16, 1896 in Clinton, the son of Benjamin K. and Sarah Jane Davenport Coppenbarger . He was married in 1921 to Mildred Tuttle and she preceded him in death in 1923. Surviving from this marriage is a daughter, Mrs. Angela (Evelyn) Paluzzi of Sunny Meade, CA. On July 1, 1925, he married Ellen Frances Young, who died in April 1968. Surviving from this marriage are two daughters, Mrs. Guy Parks and Mrs. Gene Dieu, both of Danville, Ill., and two sons, Neil, with the maritime service of San Diego, CA and Steven Kingman. Also surviving are: one brother, Frank of Decatur, Ill.; One sister, Mrs. Ted Gandy of Decatur; 10 grandchildren and two-great-grandchildren. A 45 year railroad employee, he worked for the C & EI Railroad for 40 years and the BM & JR Railroad at Two Harbors, Minn., for five years. Funeral Services were held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at Berhalter Funeral Home in Danville. The Rev. Ralph Bright officiated and burial was in Sunset Memorial Park. tch
